I think the top of the page is looking really good! My version looks really boring now :D http://redditpublic.com/wiki/User:Purine/mainpage [[User:Purine|Purine]] 04:23, 10 March 2012 (CST)

* I think what you have started is looking good, don't stop i am still tweaking it to make it better.
*Also since i have you here what do you think about a new name space for player pages ? as in "player:ingamename" We would have to move a lot of pages but in the end i think it would make the wiki more organized as it would get the players pages out of the same namespace as the creations are.
* Someone suggested that there be individual name spaces for each server, as in "creative:name of creation" "PvE: Creation name" but i think that would make more work as most users would always end up making the pages in the wrong name space and just cause a mess on the server.
* Thanks let me know what your opinion is on these items --[[User:Admin|DARKSKYNET]] 14:07, 10 March 2012 (CST)

:That was me suggesting that but I see it's not the best option since we have to rename pages constantly. I think the player namespace would be good. }}TwistedMexi joined the [[PVE]] server on Rev3 and became a late resident of [[Brom Island]] shortly before the map was reset and moved on to PVE rev4. During the duration of rev4 he spent his time on a desolate 180 x 200 plot clearing out roughly 80,000 blocks of stone and 60,000 blocks of dirt to level the terrain. This was for the planned site of what would be called the BIOS Project. Unfortunately with the Minecraft 1.8 update looming upon the server with copious amounts of terrain and biome changes, the project was abandoned and used for the [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2UQEenzQTo PVE4 Brom Rodeo] instead. TwistedMexi built the Brom Rodeo structure while [[Waterslide]] proceeded to exhaust the world's Brick supply on the server's largest brick "BROM RODEO" sign.

After the rodeo was finished, TwistedMexi refrained from building until the map was reset for 1.8.

Once PVE rev5 begun, he helped brom with some infrastructure before shortly venturing back to the BIOS Project scheme. Thanks to the more forgiving terrain, the project has evolved much more quickly and currently stands as a large stone platform that will eventually be 60,000 smoothstone blocks. Construction is still in progress but on schedule. The SouthEast tower is currently erected.

The goal of the BIOS Project is still not available to the Public Press. (Although several harassing letters have been received from both Brom Tribune and Brom Times)

All will be made clear given time.
Purinehttps://wiki.nerd.nu/index.php?title=Feld&diff=12248Feld2012-03-10T10:24:37Z
Purine: ops

= Universal =

'''These rules apply to all servers, including the subreddit, mumble server, IRC channel and forum where applicable'''

*'''Don't be a dick''' (the staff reserves the right to mess with dicks...in a completely asexual and extremely self-depriving yet generous way)
*No sexism, racism, homophobia or any type of hate speech, especially targeted at specific users.
*Please respect all players. Blatant harassment of the staff, or any one else, can result in a kick or a ban.
*You are responsible for your own account. If your account is used by someone else for griefing the server in any way, it will be banned. Please do not message the moderators with the excuse that someone else used your account. We have no way to verify this, and as such, it will not be tolerated as an excuse.
*Players blatantly using modifications to change gameplay may be asked to stop, kicked, or banned with little warning. This includes, but is not limited to: noclip, invincibility, speed, and duping hacks.
*No griefing, including but not limited to: destroying blocks placed by other players, flooding structures, spamming items, leaving inappropriate signs on others’ structures, destroying plants (none of these apply to chaos)
*No "grief-baiting". This means that players cannot try to get other players in trouble by tricking/forcing them to destroying structures in an attempt to get the player warned or banned. This will fall under our umbrella "Don't be a dick." rule and will (if abused enough) result in a ban.
*No attempts to circumvent any protections on the server, including but not limited to the server script, LWC(Chest protection), WorldGuard(Block protection), and GriefAlert. Attempts to do so without permission will result in a ban without appeal.
*Invisible or glitched players may have their data reset without warning.
*No sharing of illegal content.
*No trolling in chat (Don’t spam the chat with useless twaddle)
*If you are banned under one account you cannot play on other accounts on the server while the ban is still in effect. Caught playing on alt accounts while your main account is banned will result in your alt accounts being permanently banned.
*Any rules placed at spawn on the servers supersede the rules here as they will generally be more up-to-date.
*No offensive or inappropriate skins. Failure to change when asked by a mod will result in a ban until it is changed.
*No NSFW constructions (e.g. giant phallic buildings).
*Absolutely no impersonation of staff members.
*No advertising of non-nerd.nu servers.

===Banning policy===
*In most cases, an attempt at establishing communication will be made prior to a ban. However, during certain times the server can be very busy, and depending on reason for the ban, you may not be warned. In situations where the player is significantly changing the game environment, they may be banned without any warning.
*You may appeal bans by following the appeals process at: http://nerd.nu/appeal
*If you are banned, please do not make a subreddit post or it may be removed & ignored.
*Lifting bans is done entirely at the discretion of the mods / admins, and conditions may be imposed if a ban is lifted.

= [[Chaos]] =
===General===
*No rules, except the universal server rules (minus griefing). No hacking or client mods, specifically.
*Admins reserve the right to clean up anything making the game unplayable, including making spawn inescapable by any means.
*The map should be considered volatile and may potentially be reset at any time

===Banned Items===
*None

= [[Creative]] =
===General===
*All MCPublic universal rules still apply.

===Banned Items===
*Water
*Stationary water
*Lava
*Stationary lava
*TNT
*Fire
*Monster Spawner
*Ice
*Portal
*Flint and Steel
*Sulphur
*Bucket
*Water bucket
*Lava bucket
*Bows
*Snowballs
*Boat
*Storage Minecart
*Powered Minecart
*Fishing Rod
**If you would like any of these items, you can ask a mod or an admin to place them for you.

= [[pve|PvE]] =
===General===
*All MCPublic universal rules still apply.
*No killing or trapping other players in any manner. This includes, but is not limited to: Dropping lava on or around them, dropping blocks on them, or pushing them and forcing them to fall. This also includes using worldguard protections or lwc to trap players. Exceptions will only be allowed in extenuating circumstances with the explicit consent of an admin.
*Be a good neighbor, give other people some space. The map is huge, don’t build right up against other people’s structures unless the area is very crowded. Buildings that violate this rule may be moved to a new location without warning.
*Any building scaffolding or access structures, such as 1x1 towers, should be removed when no longer necessary. Permanent scaffolding or towers are frowned upon and may be removed by staff. Long-incomplete structures that are in the way may be removed at the discretion of server admins.
*Be respectful of the map and do not mar the experience or view for other players. Certain “very low quality” structures including but not limited to cobble/netherrack boxes and floating skyrails may be removed if they significantly impact the surrounding area in a negative way. Such removal will be done entirely at the discretion of server admins.
*Do not leave item drops laying about in large quantities. This is detrimental to the performance and stability of the server.
**Grinders and automatic farms should be protected and must have an incinerator (destroys drops when no one is using, like cactus or lava)
*The map should be considered open for exploration. Players are not allowed to completely block off large sections of the map. Access to land and buildings should not be "restricted". Anything can be explored by anyone. Rare exceptions include structures such as private animal farms.

===Nether/End===
*All server rules still apply in the Nether and End.
*The End should be considered volatile and could be reset at any time. Don’t store blocks or items in the End that you don’t want to lose.
*The Nether may be reset from time to time. We will try to give several days’ notice before a Nether reset, but this is not guaranteed. In general, don’t store blocks or items in the Nether that you don’t want to lose.
*Due to the possibility of resets, we will not protect builds in the Nether/End. Exceptions include spawners.

===Protections===
*Protections serve two distinct purposes:
**To prevent unauthorized edits to player made structures and other builds (this includes strongholds and NPC villages significantly improved or worked on by the player).
**To control the development of a town or city
*Protections are not used for “claiming land.” Mods will only protect builds (houses, rail, farms, ect) and clearly established cities. Requests to protect empty land or to protect a very large buffer around a structure will be denied.
*Protections generally will cover the entire area above a structure (to sky limit) and about 10 blocks below the lowest floor.
**We will not protect to bedrock unless your structure extends down that far. Underground resources are considered to be public property. Mines, drop shafts, ect, will not be protected.

===City Rules===
*Cities are defined as areas under enforceable control of a mayor
*Cities must be under a protection region; to be given protection, cities must at least have infrastructure (roads, streetlights, terraforming, etc)
*Mayors must be added to the owners list on the region; these players can edit in the region and request to add new members
*Members are added by region owners using the /region addmember commands; these players can edit in the region
*Approval of city protection size is at the discretion of mods/admins

===Banned Items===
* Fire (Flint and Steel).
* TNT.
* Boats
* Water and lava buckets only place static liquid. If you need water or lava made to flow, or fire placed please make a /helpreq.
** Mods and Admins reserve the right to deny flowing water or lava.
*Redstone mechanisms, dispensers, and pistons may be removed at moderator discretion; abuse of these (lag inducing, player traps, etc) may result in a ban
*Portals
**There are several public portals available for player use, including several "hidden" ones. Clues can be found around nerd.nu and the subreddit at www.reddit.com/r/mcpublic

===Hacking===
*No attempts to circumvent any protections on the server, including but not limited to the server script, LWC(Chest protection) and WorldGuard(Block protection). Attempts to do so without permission will result in a ban without appeal.
*Players using modifications to change gameplay may be asked to stop, kicked, or banned with little or no warning depending on the severity of the situation. This includes, but is not limited to: flying, speed modifications, xray/ore-detection, player radars, and duping hacks.
*No use of bugs or exploits to gain an advantage over other players (eg: item duping).

===Social===
*Please respect all players. Harassment of any staff or user can result in a kick or a ban.
*No sexism, racism, homophobia or any type of hate speech, especially targeted at specific users.
*No offensive or inappropriate skins. Failure to change when asked by a mod will result in a ban until it is changed

= [[Survival]] =
===General===
*Don't be a Dick
*All MCPublic universal rules still apply.
*Any rules placed at spawn on the servers supersede the rules here as they will generally be more up-to-date.
*You are responsible for your own account. Anything that is done on your account will be viewed as done by you, and will be treated as such.
*Invisible or glitched players may have their data reset without warning.
*No griefing, including but not limited to:
**Destroying blocks placed by other players.
**Placing blocks on other player’s structures.
**Flooding structures.
**Leaving inappropriate signs on others’ structures.
**Destroying crops without replanting.
*No "grief-baiting". This means that players cannot try to get other players in trouble by tricking/forcing them to destroying structures in an attempt to get the player warned or banned.
*No attempting to place or use banned items (List of banned items below).
*No ban evasion via the use of other accounts.
*Please don’t complain about lag or server restarts. It’s a fact of life, our technical admins are constantly working to smooth the experience, and repeated complaints get annoying.
*Do not spam chat or abuse commands.
*No advertising of non-nerd.nu servers.
*No NSFW constructions (e.g. giant phallic buildings, swastikas).
*Admins reserve the right to resolve land disputes in a manner they deem appropriate.
*Within 500 blocks of spawn, please do not create:
**Mob Grinders
**Auto-harvesting Farms
**Redstone Loops
*No sharing of illegal content
*Absolutely no impersonation of staff members.

===Social===
*Please respect all players. Harassment of the staff, or any one else, can result in a kick or a ban.
**Although bad mouthing and trolling is a port of the survival server experience, excessive direct verbal(textual) attacks against a person will not be tolerated.
*No sexism, racism, homophobia or any type of hate speech.
*No offensive or inappropriate skins. Failure to change when asked by a mod will result in a ban until it is changed.

===PvP===
*Players are allowed to make a small number of temporary edits for the purpose of gaining access to other players’ bases, such as for PvP or exploration. However, all such edits must be fixed immediately; this rule does not justify any form of griefing or base modification.
*No spawn camping.
*Using login as a function of PvP is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to:
**Logging off while engaged in combat.
**Relogging to gain an advantage such as invulnerability for PvP or to prevent fall damage while being chased.
**Timing logins to attack players at specific locations.
**Playing with multiple accounts to give yourself a PvP-related advantage
**Users who do any of these may get warned by a mod or kicked/banned by an admin.
*No use of LWC-locked blocks for the purpose of base defense or personal protection. LWC should be used to protect the items within them, nothing else.
*Anything unlocked may be looted. You are not to take someones unlocked block(griefing), nor lock it, but you may take the contents within.
== About Pico ==
Pico is a town on the southern edge of the map that was founded on an npc village. Though it started out small, it is one of the fastest growing cities on the map, rivaling Seneca, the spawn city, in number of residents. It welcomes players of all experience levels, providing a firm start for newer minecraftians and challenging older builders with its smaller than average plots. Its southerly location, multiple rails, roads and proximity to the South Nether Portal puts Pico in an excellent mix of seclusion and connectivity. Its abundant farms serve as a breadbasket of the south, with the double chest of food in the Welcome Center being filled and emptied on a regular basis. Pico is also the home of several ambitious rail projects, which culminated in the [[South Central Station]], a four-way link between [[Brom Empire]], [[Oasis]], [[Wellspring]] and Pico.

== Building Guidelines ==
Pico is fairly lenient when it comes to building. Our only rules are:
*Stay within your plot. This includes up in the air, so think about where the edge of your roof will end up.
*Keep building height below the level of the watchtower.
*Abide by global building rules.
And that's it. We have no style restrictions, though many of our residents have taken inspiration from the style of the npc village we were founded upon. Underground I consider a free-for-all, though be considerate of your neighbors and try to work out any problems between yourselves.
A '''PvE''' or '''Player versus Environment''' server allows players to battle the environment and mobs while working with (instead of against) other players. The entire map is PvE, without player-on-player damage, there used to be an exception of a few PvP enabled arenas but it's not currently possible.

Revisions 1-4 were notable for its fantastic modified terrain, characterized by floating islands and deep underwater caverns using [http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/127432-v14-01/ BiomeTerrainMod]/[http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/313991-173/ Phoenix Terrain Mod]. Revisions 5 and 6 used vanilla map generation instead to avoid the large mountains and overhangs that interfered with city construction, but revision 7 returned to a toned-down custom terrain mod.

PvE is known as a great tight-knit community, for a long time during revision 3 having the most users on Mumble (Partly due to [[Newcastle]], which advertised Mumble to it's residents). PvE usually has less of [[:File:Dramallama.jpg|this]], [[:File:Crying-baby.jpg|this]], and [[:File:1337haxxor.png|this]] than other servers.{{citation needed}}
=== Map revision 1===
The Reddit PvE server began with a period of early-access for those that donated during the drive for a new server processor and memory, and is currently open to the public. During the move from the period of early access to public availability, inventories were reset and chests were deleted, though the map remained the same. There was also an [[PvE_Spawn_Design_Contest|ongoing contest]] to create the spawn for the new server when it came online. The first map soon became came corrupted due to noise machines and other crazy redstone machines, as well as different glitches and bugs. It also became very laggy. They said goodbye to the first revision suddenly but expectantly.

=== Map revision 2===

PvE revision two was when the server really gained pace, with stricter rules on structures that cause lag and more people talking about it. Most of the users from revision 1 returned, and many many more joined. Many towns sprung up this map. Soon the map became too full, and all of the dark room grinders were causing lag and crashes. This reset was very well prepared for with "The End is Near" signs popping up everywhere, as well as many parties/photo shoots.

=== Map revision 3===
The next map came up quickly, quicker than many people had expected, and the well publicized hunt for pumpkins began (many screenshots on /r/mcpublic, as well as forum posts). This acted as great advertising for the server. This map also contained the famous and infamous [[Newcastle]], which really put a focus on creating, helping, and residing in different towns. A grinder registration room was set up to avoid the lag and crashes of the last map. This map ended and was reset abruptly, when the server's hosts were being switched to protect against the DDoS attacks.

=== Map revision 4===
The next map once again started with a search for pumpkins, however not as major as pumpkins were plumped this map with Phoenix Terrain Mod. Another thing Phoenix Terrain Mod generated was large [[tard towers]] connecting overhangs to water/land. This map includes a mobile spawn held up by balloons - this, which slowed the map filling up, and the return of the grinder registration room meant near 0 crashes on this revision; until near the end when the StarGate plugin stopped functioning. This map came to an end when 1.8 arrived, due to it's vast array of new terrain features which required a map-reset.

=== Map revision 5===
Map revision five lasted a pretty decent amount of time, few towns popped up due to the monster mega-town Brom. Brom in itself, though, was massive and amazing. There was also an under-city called UnterBrom which was 1 block below most of the city; so any place you dug led into a massive underground collection of buildings. This map lasted until the inevitable 1.0.0.

=== Map revision 6===
The sixth map saw a hub system focused around the nether gates located on each cardinal axis, which gave rise to a flourishing [[PvE_Rail_(r6)|rail network]] for convenient travel. The numerous smaller towns also led to the [[FISA|PvE spleef league]] forming in this revision, seeing [[FISA_Teams_and_Stadiums_(r6)|nearly a dozen teams]] in regular play. Many players united to complete the [[Überproject]] shortly before the revision ended.

:''See [[PvE Atlas (r6)]] for more.

=== Map revision 7 ===
Map revision 7 started although many players felt that the map wasn't old enough and there was a lot of free space but other argued that it would be easier to new players come to play and that it was difficult to find place to build. This map revision was also return of terra moded maps.

==Rules==

The rules that apply to every server can be found on the [[Rules]] page. Please read them.

===Common===
*All MCPublic common rules still apply.
*Any building scaffolding or access structures such as tard towers (towers that are only a single block wide) should be removed when no longer necessary. Permanent scaffolding or tard towers are frowned upon and may be removed by staff.

===Nether/End===

===Protections===

===City Rules===
*Members are added by mods via helpreqs made by those on the owners list; these players can edit in the region
*Approval of city protection size is at the discretion of mods/admins

===Banned Items===
* Fire (Flint and Steel).
* TNT.
*Water and lava buckets only place static liquid. If you need water or lava made to flow, or fire placed please make a /helpreq.

There is also a temporary ban on Mine-carts as there is a duplication glitch

===Hacking===

===Social===
*Please respect all players. Harassment of any staff or user can result in a kick or a ban.
*No sexism, racism, homophobia or any type of hate speech targeted at specific users.
*No offensive or inappropriate skins. Failure to change when asked by a mod will result in a ban until it is changed

===Banning policy===

==Transportation==
'''Roads'''
An extensive road network has sprung up organically, connecting particularly well the densest area of the map between and including Spawn and the various cities on the server. Due to this organic nature, the style of roads very all over the world.

'''Nether Portals'''
Originally, "StarGates" were used to travel quickly around the map; but they have since been replaced with Nether portals as of 1.8. There is a central Nether Portal at spawn, and then four other portals, each 1500 along each axis (+x, -x, +z, -z). There are also rumours of extra secret portals for you to find.

'''Rails'''
There are quite a few rails that connect many large cities. Check out the [https://github.com/leafstorm/railgen/blob/master/pve-6-rails.yaml PvE 6 Rails YAML file] for a generally up to date listing of most lines and stations. You can use the railgen tool from that git repo to generate your own rail index, too.

==The Hunt for Atlantis==
Clues were written at spawn to find the lost city of Atlantis, an underground and flooded glowstone structure created by [[schererererer]], [[Trevorman]] and [[wraithguard01]].

At least 2 people were required to open the treasure room. One person is required to activate the stone plates on the throne which would open the doors to the treasure room to allow entry and exit. The main treasure was within the treasure room and consisted of a small amount of precious materials such as gold, iron and diamond blocks along with a complete set of chainmail armor.

Atlantis was discovered by [[jcll]] on 8th April 2011. He quickly discovered that it would require at least 2 people to access the treasure room and gave directions to [[Kreeon]] to come help him. They successfully accessed the treasure room and the treasure itself was split between jcll and Kreeon.

There was an alternate smaller unmarked treasure chest on the lower level of Atlantis. It required wading through a large pool of lava to reach the chest. jcll noticed the chest on a later visit to Atlantis and together with [[Aharito]] + several stacks of bread managed to survive the swim through the lava. The treasure in this case was a small amount of precious materials but did not contain special items like the chainmail.

The Atlantis stargate was activated and linked to the regular network once the main treasure inside Atlantis was claimed.
The rules that apply to every server can be found on the [[Rules]] page. Please read them.

===Common===
*All MCPublic common rules still apply.
*Any building scaffolding or access structures such as tard towers (towers that are only a single block wide) should be removed when no longer necessary. Permanent scaffolding or tard towers are frowned upon and may be removed by staff.

===Nether/End===

===Protections===

===City Rules===
*Members are added by mods via helpreqs made by those on the owners list; these players can edit in the region
*Approval of city protection size is at the discretion of mods/admins

===Banned Items===
* Fire (Flint and Steel).
* TNT.
*Water and lava buckets only place static liquid. If you need water or lava made to flow, or fire placed please make a /helpreq.

There is also a temporary ban on Mine-carts as there is a duplication glitch

===Hacking===

===Social===
*Please respect all players. Harassment of any staff or user can result in a kick or a ban.
*No sexism, racism, homophobia or any type of hate speech targeted at specific users.
*No offensive or inappropriate skins. Failure to change when asked by a mod will result in a ban until it is changed

===Banning policy===

==Transportation==

==The Hunt for Atlantis==

PvE is known as a great tight-knit community, for a long time during revision 3 having the most users on Mumble (Partly due to [[Newcastle]], which advertised Mumble to it's residents). PvE usually has less of [[:File:Dramallama.jpg|this]], [[:File:Crying-baby.jpg|this]], and [[:File:1337haxxor.png|this]] than other servers.{{citation needed}}

==Server History==

Seven revisions in -- don't forget the past! Many current cities are reincarnations of cities that existed in past revisions. Others are totally new.

==Rules==

The rules that apply to every server can be found on the [[Rules]] page. Please read them.

===Common===
*All MCPublic common rules still apply.
*Any building scaffolding or access structures such as tard towers (towers that are only a single block wide) should be removed when no longer necessary. Permanent scaffolding or tard towers are frowned upon and may be removed by staff.

===Nether/End===

===Protections===

===City Rules===
*Members are added by mods via helpreqs made by those on the owners list; these players can edit in the region
*Approval of city protection size is at the discretion of mods/admins

===Banned Items===
* Fire (Flint and Steel).
* TNT.
*Water and lava buckets only place static liquid. If you need water or lava made to flow, or fire placed please make a /helpreq.

There is also a temporary ban on Mine-carts as there is a duplication glitch

===Hacking===

===Social===
*Please respect all players. Harassment of any staff or user can result in a kick or a ban.
*No sexism, racism, homophobia or any type of hate speech targeted at specific users.
*No offensive or inappropriate skins. Failure to change when asked by a mod will result in a ban until it is changed

===Banning policy===
*In most cases, an attempt at establishing communication will be made prior to a ban. However, during certain times the server can be very busy, and depending on reason for the ban, you may not be warned. In situations where the player is significantly changing the game environment, they may be banned without any warning.
==Transportation==

==The Hunt for Atlantis==

The Reddit [[PvE]] server has a large (and steadily increasing) number of settlements -- some big, some small, many awesome, showcasing the creativity and building skills of many different users.

Explore! The [http://nerd.nu/maps/pve/ live map] is currently unavailable (as of January 24th), but there are multiple static user-created maps floating around. This page is intended as a place to aggregate these maps, and as a place for the community to list the coordinates of every settlement out there.
=== Technical Notes ===

The three "atlas" maps were generated by [[User:bencvt|bencvt]]'s Python script, which scrapes this wiki page, then adds labels onto a blank map. [http://pastebin.com/DxNrh8jT The source is available here.] If the maps are out of date, feel free to run the script yourself and upload the results!

The current blank map was generated by [[c45y]] [http://www.reddit.com/r/mcpublic/comments/ovl4u/pve_carto_enjoy/]; older versions used 31stCenturyMatt's custom Minecraft addon ([http://pastebin.com/GxZK44KR source available here]; also check his [http://www.reddit.com/r/mcpublic/comments/nrp8v/pve_overhead_static_map/ post to the subreddit]).

This template is intended to be used in a list in the article itself, rather than in a navigation template like [[Template:Navbox]]. Based on [[Template:Reflist]], but different in that the text to be displayed is manually created rather than a list of references.

=== Usage ===

<nowiki>{{</nowiki>columns-list|''number of columns''|
''text (usually a list)''
<nowiki>}}</nowiki>

If the number of columns is omitted, two columns will be used.

This template uses CSS3 multiple column layout and is not supported by all browsers.

{{CSS3 multiple column layout}}

==== Example ====

An example would be

<nowiki>{{columns-list|2|
* [[George Washington]]
* [[John Adams]]
* [[Thomas Jefferson]]
* [[James Madison]]
* [[James Monroe]]
}}</nowiki>

which would render as

<div {{#if: 2| style="-moz-column-count:2; -webkit-column-count:2; column-count:2 }};">
* [[George Washington]]
* [[John Adams]]
* [[Thomas Jefferson]]
* [[James Madison]]
* [[James Monroe]]

CSS styles can also be added after the number of columns. For example
<nowiki>{{columns-list|2</nowiki>''';width:400px;font-style:italic'''<nowiki>|
* [[New York, I Love You]]
* [[Hōtai Club]]
* [[The Kon Ichikawa Story]]
* [[Rainbow Song]]
* [[Hana and Alice|Hana & Alice]]
* [[All About Lily Chou-Chou]]
* [[April Story]]
* [[Swallowtail Butterfly (film)|Swallowtail Butterfly]]
* [[Picnic (1996 film)|Picnic]]
* [[Fried Dragon Fish]]
}}</nowiki>

which would render as

<div {{#if: 2| style="-moz-column-count:2; -webkit-column-count:2; column-count:2; width:400px; font-style:italic }};">
* [[New York, I Love You]]
* [[Hōtai Club]]
* [[The Kon Ichikawa Story]]
* [[Rainbow Song]]
* [[Hana and Alice|Hana & Alice]]
* [[All About Lily Chou-Chou]]
* [[April Story]]
* [[Swallowtail Butterfly (film)|Swallowtail Butterfly]]
* [[Picnic (1996 film)|Picnic]]
* [[Fried Dragon Fish]]

=== Redirects ===
* {{tl|cmn}} redirects here

=== Bugs ===
The use of a raw link within the template will break the rendering:

{{pre2|<nowiki>{{columns-list|2|
* [[George Washington]]
* [[John Adams]][http://www.example.org]
* [[Thomas Jefferson]]
* [[James Madison]]
* [[James Monroe]]
}}</nowiki>}}

Shows as:

{{columns-list|2|
* [[George Washington]]
* [[John Adams]][http://www.example.org]
* [[Thomas Jefferson]]
* [[James Madison]]
* [[James Monroe]]
}}

This can be resolved by converting to link to {{tag|ref|open}}
