I like this ideas, Not sure if captcha will work that way but ill look into it :D Verfied email is nice for stopping the spam, but ... I don't think we get enough spam to warrant it. I think users could be promoted automatically to trusted users after 10 edits over some time period and with verified email. Also I think for editing users should verify their email.
