Many, many, many years ago, there was once a village here. Artifacts found inside suggest the temple was constructed for a man, simply named, “Al”. Further examination of the site reveals that Al saved the village from an evil monster, a creeper, similar to those we see today. These ancient creepers had glowing red eyes and mouths, and grew to 10 meters in height!

Cave paintings near the site depict a sort of biography of the man called Al. He was a skilled salesman, particularly with iron shoes for women. He took a wife (on accident, while he was drunk) and she bore two children, a girl and a boy. Al lived a somewhat miserable life, constantly mocked by his family and friends. He dreamt about his former days as a champion spleefer, a lifestyle he was destined to never live again. Some say he was cursed with misfortune. In fact, was nearly killed once or twice each season.

One day a creeper was spotted just outside the village. The villagers all ran into their homes, but Al was left behind because he became confused and ran the wrong way. The creeper exploded, killing Al, but saving the entire village from any damage. The temple was then built in his honor. Or, it could be in the creeper’s honor. We’re not certain either way.

The entrance to the temple is now open to the public, but many of its secrets have yet to be discovered…
