- so tompreuss suggested that instead of a site-wide Navbox default color set, the wiki should have skin-specific navbox color sets. I agree with this! So I went to try and find a way to change common.css by adding, like,
if skin = vector then {
, but I couldn't find anything regarding that via google.- So I cut the navbox CSS out of common.css and pasted it into vector.css, and spent a rather long time figuring out what every class changed the color of, as well as making a few new classes -- mainly to change the link color in 'odd' and 'even' rows to something more visible, but also things like changing the color of links to nonexistent pages (but only within navboxes).
- somebody in an official mediawiki IRC channel claimed that the common.js here had a nonfunctional version of the "collapsible tables" javascript, so I imported a newer version from en.wikipedia.org -- and it works, apparently, or at least it does on navbox's documentation page's example templates.
- keep in mind this is all just the default colors for navbox (and on the vector skin) so you can still just use navbox's built-in features to change colors upon template creation
