About Pico
Pico is a city located to the sun north at 0, -1500. By coordinates, it is the East Hub and is connected to the rest of the map by multiple rail systems. Pico was designed to evoke the dense cluster of tall towers that is the hallmark of many real world cities, and is a perfect local for any minecrafter with the itch to build a skyscraper. However, there are also two residential blocks for those who wish to live in the heart of the city, but don't want to build quite that tall. Pico is built of numbered blocks and colored roads for easy navigation and when it is completed, Pico will also have a subway system for fast travel around the city. Pico's two mayors are thrawn21 and spacepirate1941, who also ran the town of Pico last map.
Building Codes
There are almost no style restrictions in Pico, only height requirements. Blocks 1 and 16 are reserved for residential housing and all buildings must remain under three stories high. All the other blocks are composed of tower plots and buildings must be at least four stories high. A wide variety of build styles is encouraged, the more creative, the better! Basements may be dug directly under your plot down to y20.

History
Pico was established on the same day the revision began.
A large amount of land needed clearing before building the city could begin.
On the left: a dirt pillar marking (0,-1500), the center of town.
As the leveling continued, roads began to be laid. The mountain in the background on the right proved one of the most time-consuming to dismantle.
Over a dozen players helped with the monumental earth-moving effort. The game even decided to help where it could.
Land clearing complete, plots could be marked and construction could finally begin.
Walls begin to go up as players move into the city.
Towers begin to rise over the freshly flattened land.
Not otherwise in use at the moment, shorelines are used as a makeshift source of sugar cane.
Trees fill unclaimed plots, serving as a source of building materials and occasionally charcoal for smelting the stockpiles of cobblestone left over from leveling the land.
In lieu of occupants, hundreds of torches keep hostile mobs from squatting on empty plots.
Skycraper construction continues as the beginnings of a skyline start to form.
Construction begins on the four towers at the center of the city that will house the town hall, rail station, and public mines.
A rail platform takes shape between the four central towers as more and more skyscrapers rise above the landscape.
A Christmas tree is constructed near the city center as lamp posts and elevated rail lines are extended over the city streets.
The view looking back from the Nether portal a short walk outside the city.
Numerous plots remain available for new residents.
Several buildings reach completion as construction continues on others.
ZotShot descends after building the star atop his Christmas tree as residents and non-residents alike watch in awe.
