Spawn is the building/area where players spawn the first time they join the server. It is usually located at the center of the map, and it contains the rules of the server, the spawn nether portal, free food and other treats to help equip freshly joined players before venturing outside.
Design
During Revision 4, Spawn consisted of a floating platform supported by 4 colorful balloons (this, which slowed the map filling up, and the return of the grinder registration room meant near 0 crashes on this revision; until near the end when the StarGate plugin stopped functioning). Players were introduced to the server rules there, portal gates and a trading post set up by the server admins. After the Cataclysm, the spawn area was set to (32, 64, -16) and a refuge for victims of the map corruption was built near it.
