This is a getter for the {{{1}}} property. It is meant for getting a specific field out of a set of structured data, which is laid out like so:

{{ {{{1}}}
| field1 = value2
| field2 = value2
| ...
| {{{1}}} = {{{1}}}_value
| ...
}}

If the structured data is part of a larger set, it may be wrapped with <onlyinclude></onlyinclude> tags. For instance, block pages do this; see Template:Block for more details.

You probably shouldn't be using this template directly. Use Template:Safe get instead!
